Associate Homeroom Teacher

Ms. Chen holds a master‘s degree in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Communication University of China. Yu has nine years of teaching experience in China and abroad. She previously taught Chinese and Chinese Culture in both Thailand and China. She also taught AP Chinese courses and participated in educational research in the United States for three years as a visiting scholar at Michigan State University. Ms. Chen has a profound understanding of IB, AP and other international courses, and she has strong research interest in the comparison and integration of international courses and Chinese national courses. She not only loves teaching but loves her students as well. She is passionate about seeing them succeed in and out of the classroom. This is the driving force behind her teaching philosophy, “No one left behind”. Due to considering herself a lifelong learner, Ms. Chen is always in pursuit of using the most current modern educational technology and active learning instructional strategies. She believes that using such resources and methods is necessary to create excitement and enhance learning in her classroom. Throughout her nine years of teaching, she has attended international educational forums and delivered multiple speeches on topics related to her experience as an educator.

Our Program

Based on the implementation of the CNC curriculum and IB PYP/MYP teaching methodology, strategies and assessments are being creatively blended. BES is committed to cultivating and educating future designers, change-makers and innovators.
