北京海洋馆以“陶怡大众、教益学生、维系生态”为宗旨。通过丰富的鱼类展示、珍贵濒危物种的保护宣传，精彩的海洋动物表演和各种科普活动，讲述水生生物的知识与海的故事。置身其中，不但可以领略不同种类的海洋生物，还可亲身感受人类与海洋的关系。在这里，孩子们如同置身于宝贵的“资源库”，可以抓取和获得探究学习中的真实材料。
